10-Colour Pigment Ink
The PIXMA Pro9500's 10-colour pigment ink system delivers the accuracy and durability required for portraits, exhibits and fine art work. Red and green ink tanks broaden the colour gamut for increased accuracy when printing highly saturated colours. Three monochrome inks allow for neutral black and white prints with reduced metamerism.

Pigment Ink Advantages
Pigment ink is the preferred ink type for commercial photo and fine art printing. It maintains high contrast levels, clarity and colour saturation over extended periods of time. Pigment inks add a solid layer of colour that prints extremely well on both smooth photo papers and fine art papers.

FINE Print Head
Canon's high-performance FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) print head produces crisp A3+ prints up to a maximum resolution of 4800x2400dpi. Microscopic 3pl droplets minimise grain and ensure smooth tonality across the colour range. A nozzle count of 7680 ensures high quality, full-colour printing with each pass of the print head.

Single Ink System
Canon's Single Ink system maximises printing efficiency by providing individually replaceable ink tanks for each colour. An ink level window on each tank allows for quick checks of ink status. An LED provides a visual warning when an ink tank is empty or running low.

Monochrome Printing
With three dedicated monochrome inks – Photo Black, Matte Black and Gray – the PIXMA Pro9500 offers a new level of quality in professional monochrome printing.

Reduced Metamerism
Conventional printers create light gray areas using a combination of CMYK inks. The reflective properties of these inks vary, causing the appearance of printed colours to vary under different light sources – an issue known as metamerism. The PIXMA Pro9500 produces gray colours with one dedicated gray ink. This stabilises reflective properties so that prints look superb under any light. By minimising the use of colour inks for monochrome output, the PIXMA Pro9500 produces neutral tones with stabilised gray balance.

Smooth Gradations
Grayscale-converted images from D-SLRs can contain thousands of individual grayscale tones. Printers with a single black ink reproduce only a fraction of them. The PIXMA Pro9500's dedicated gray ink allows you to reproduce a wider range of grayscale tones with smoother gradations and finer detail.

High Contrast
The high density Matte Black ink adds higher contrast when printing on fine art papers: images retain their original impact. Photo Black ink is similarly optimised for printing on smoother, semi-gloss papers.

Convenience
Both monochrome and colour inks are located in the print head. The printer can automatically switch between colour and monochrome printing without the user having to swap tanks or purge ink.

Software Support
Monochrome output capabilities are complemented by the printer's software. Select a special “Grayscale mode” through the printer driver or Easy-PhotoPrintPro to perform simple monochrome conversions that take full advantage of the printer's ink system. Advanced features include Colour Tones for achieving warmer or cooler monochrome prints.
